The Good4U story began with the seeds of a great idea carefully nurtured by the members of the Butler family to become the success
story it is today: a health-food company distributing its healthy sprouts, seeds and pulse-based snacks and fresh products to over nine
international markets and counting. All members of the of the family play their part to play in this including matriarch and manging director
Bernie and husband Paul at the helm, daughters Laura (sales and marketing director); Michelle (registered dietician and head of product development);
and Emma; and son Karol (financial director). The Butler family has grown to the include the extended Good4U family who are over 50 strong and continuing to grow.
Simpli Baked
The Flat Bread Company
In 2009, Kieran Walsh founded Simpli Baked, which produces a range of pizzas and
tortillas products for foodservice and retail channels. Its production facilities are British
Retail Consortium (BRC) Grade AA compliant and the company is Roundtable on
Sustainable Palm Oil and Origin Green certified. In 2011, the company won first place in
the 2011 Meeta awards in the `Best Technology' category and, again
in 2013, following the addition of an industrial computer to its
production line. In 2017, it was named winner of the Food & Drink
category at the Small Firm's Association National Small Business
Awards for Achievement Innovation and Excellence in Small
Business and continues to go from strength to strength. Early 2019
will see a
2.2 million expansion come on stream
Rangeland Foods
Rangeland Foods is a family-owned Irish company, producing bespoke burgers for restaurants since 1982. It designs for every cooking application
and quickly provides solutions to address its customers' challenges. Its process delivers very consistent quality with automated traceability
of meat and ingredients from intake to product case. Rangeland's new Superchilled Gourmet Butchers Burger received the 2017 Anuga Taste
Innovation Showcase award. The company says it tastes identical to when first minced and is made from chilled, freshly produced Irish beef
primal cuts, minimally processed, vacuum-packed and immediately supercooled for food-safe supply with frozen logistics.
PureBred
Gallagher's Bakery is a family-owned business located in northwest Ireland, in Co. Donegal. Established in 1968, the Gallagher family has passed the craft
of baking from generation to generation. The company now operates a state-of-the-art bakery, which runs 24 hours a day producing bread, cakes and
pastries for Irish and international markets. In 2016, the company entered the gluten-free market, investing
3.5 million in a new gluten-free division.
Its gluten-free brand, PureBred, offers traditional breads and confectionery in gluten-free formats. PureBred is the leading-selling gluten-free bread in the
Irish, European, US, Canadian and Australian markets and, following this success, the company is diversifying into new products and new markets.
Valeo Foods
Valeo Foods is a leading producer and innovator of high-
quality, category-defining food products, with a proud
history that dates to 1845. Its current portfolio includes
over 20 iconic brands. It is showcasing one of these brands,
Kelkin, at SIAL. Kelkin has been providing wholesome,
natural and healthy foods since 1977. Since then, the brand's
passion for healthy living continues to inspire the company to
bring customers delicious food that , it says, fuel appetites for life.
The whole range of foods and snacks includes cereals, rice and corn
cakes, nut butters, popcorn, and juice.
Virginia Health Food
Founded in 2005, Virginia Health Food manufactures a range of seed-based health foods and cereal toppings. The company's mission
is to develop, distribute and sell the highest quality, convenient, therapeutic wholefoods and snacks in the European and US markets. It
recently launched an innovative, bite-sized seed and nut snack cube range called Squbes. Squbes are gluten free, high in fibre, a source
of protein, and made without refined sugar. Squbes and are available in three flavours: Dark Chocolate & Coconut; Salted Caramel &
Almond; and Blueberry, Cranberry & Vanilla. Squbes are designed to be an on-the-go, anytime healthy snack, or a great addition to
porridge, yoghurt or smoothies. The full product range includes Virginia Harvest milled linseed, blends of seeds and crunchy toppings,
in both conventional and organic quality. Its Helen's brand offers a range of unique, gluten-free home-baking mixes. Virginia produces
branded and private-label products, which the company says offers competitive pricing, an efficient supply chain and world-class
manufacturing, supported by expert new product development and the ability to produce large or smaller volumes of bespoke products.
